| Communities In Schools is the nation's largest stay-in-school network. CIS of the Rocky Mount Region, Inc. is a non-profit organization. The purpose of the program is to keep students in school through graduation and to offer "last dollar" scholarships for higher education. CIS helps the community take responsibility for its own children. CIS is a process that enlists the help of businesses, industries, churches, civic groups, service organization and individuals . This partnership forms the basis to meet the needs of students and families. As a result, the students become more productive members of the community.
